Mahopac Man Faces DWI Charge In Bryant Pond Road Stop

An early morning traffic stop on a busy Putnam County road led to the arrest of a Mahopac man who was allegedly drinking and driving.

Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Neary was on patrol shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday Aug. 11, when he was stopped for committing a vehicle and traffic law violation on Bryant Pond Road in Putnam Valley.

During the subsequent stop, Neary reported that the driver, 47-year-old Eddie Miranda was found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was taken into custody and transported to the Putnam County Correctional Facility.

Miranda was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent. Following his processing, Miranda was released and issued an appearance ticket scheduling him to appear in the Town of Putnam Valley Justice Court to answer the charges.
